It's been a while since I've updated everyone, but there's not too much to talk about quite yet. Classes are all going well, and I'm kind of starting to the hang of my philosophy class....kind of. Everything this else is pretty much fine. I have to start preparing for my political science presentation that is the monday after winter break so that I don't have to worry about it over break, but luckily it's about a subject I have studied, so I'm not terribly worried.
These past weekends have been lot of fun. A few Fridays ago, me and and three of my friends cooked our own dinner at home and it was delicious. We had pasta and chicken and cooked veggies and salad and some cheap Bordeaux, of course. It was seriously like the greatest meal I've ever made. It's so easy to find good quality ingredients that it's almost impossible to make a bad meal. I feel like I talk about food in every blog but seriously, I've never been more excited to eat meals than I am here. I'm also obsessed with buying clementines from the market everyday. My average is about three a day at this point. They are sooooo good though.
On Sunday my friends and I went to the garden above the Popes Palace. Even though it wasn't that cold out, the le Mistral (famous French wind) was brutal all the way up on the top of this mountain thing, and we were ducking for cover most of the time. We can't wait until its really nice and we can go up there for lunch (there's a tiny little cafe!). It's seriously an amazing little place, and needless to say, the views are amazing.

While we are here, the center will provide us with a little reimbursement for extra-curricular activities, and my friend Mirel and I are going to take yoga at a local studio for our activity. We want to go try one class first, but I think that's probably what we will end up doing. Some of my other friends here are in a choir, and I thought about doing that, but I kind of like taking a break from choir. Obviously it would probably be really fun here and not at all like last semester, but yoga in French? Yes please.
This weekend was a lot of being lazy and then hanging out at night. It got really really nice out this Sunday, so a few of us were going out to lunch when we came across a huge race through the city of Avignon! There were little babies in running spandex all the way up to old men. We watched the start and then followed the pathway down as hundreds of runners weaved in and out of streets. When we took a break for a few minutes we recognized one of the runners as a fellow student haha! We cut through the course to get to the end just in time to cheer him on to finish! He told us later that he did a lot better than he thought he would, and I think he earned a trophy or something. It was a 11km race and his time was 38 min. WOW. The wind was really brutal that day too, so I'm glad I wasn't running against it.

This week is going to be super easy, we are all really excited. Most of our professors cancelled classes so I had none today, have none on Wednesday, and only 2 or 1 all other days, and then its winter break!! On my docket for break is the following: Toulouse, Bordeaux, Blois, Caen and of course Paris! I am beyond excited to hop trains all across France, drink wine from the best corner of the world, and stay in a hotel ON the beaches of Normandy! Not to mention hit up all the most famous places in Paris that I've never had the chance to experience. Of course I think I'll have a lot more to talk about next week!!
